Sunil Goyal is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee with a BE in Electronics and communication ,1989 batch. After spending 4 years in the corporate world, Sunil started his entrepreneur journey in 1993 at the age of 26 with nil Capital. He Co-Founded Momentum Technologies with Pankaj, his senior from IIT Roorkee. For the initial 6 years, they were growing the Systems Integration business. In 1999, they decided to venture into offshore Development for Software services. Citi Ventures invested in Momentum in 2000. This enabled them to set up their offices in Noida, Vancouver and Seattle.They grew the software arm to 100 people, before being acquired by Newell and Budge, a Scottish company. N&B got acquired by Sopra in the same year. Sopra after merger with Steria today has 6000 people in India.Its part of the 5.4 Billion Euros Sopra Steria group with more than 54 000 people worldwide. Sunil is the head of India Operations as Dy.CEO .Sunil in past was also the CEO for Sopra Banking Software and had grown the company from 100 to 1200+ people for R&D and PS operations. He was on the Board till April 2026..Sunil is very passionate about the CSR activities of the organization and is very closely involved with Education and community health related projects.

Sunil was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for entrepreneurship by IIT Roorkee in 2024. He also Chairs the NASSCOM’s Regional council. He is an Independent director on Board of All e Technologies Ltd. He is also on Academic/Advisory Boards of Chandigarh University, Benett University, Jaipuria Management College and IET.

He has been a regular speaker various academic institutes like IIIT Una, XLRI Jamshedpur, XLRI Delhi Campus, IIM Rohtak , IIM Lucknow, IIT Roorkee and many Leadership forums.
